*2 meter social distancing and mask wearing protocols are in place at all times to safeguard all of us at collection and drop off points throughout the Coronavirus pandemic. To add an extra layer of safety we also wear a mask and gloves whilst walking your dogs and handling leads. The safety of our clients and their pets is of paramount importance to us. Our protocols to mitigate the risk of spreading infection are as follows:

New clients
We think it is extremely important to meet your dog(s) first before we begin to take them out for walks. This provides a good foundation to build our relationship with them and win their trust whilst they are within their own environment. Obviously Covid-19 has hindered our usual process somewhat, however we are still able to follow this procedure if you can provide an outside garden area large enough to allow for 2 meters of social distancing to meet both you and your dog(s) for 15-20 minutes. This will give us ample time to meet your dog(s) and for you to tell us anything we need to know about your specific requirements and their personalities. Should your dog be receptive to us as is normally the case, we will make a decision with you to either start walking them right away or arrange to meet up on a couple more occasions to build their trust a little more until they are completely comfortable with us.

Our communication is usually digital via email, website, text or telephone. We ask all of our clients to fill out our easy online questionnaire as part of the enrollment process via our website. This enables us to detail all of your dog(s) requirements, health history and behaviours so that absolutely nothing is missed. It also keeps the transactions between us as paper free as possible and gives you peace of mind.

Existing clients
Nobody knows how long this pandemic is going to last and as such we will continue to have flexible arrangements in place and an open line of communication to regularly discuss all the arrangements for your pets, because everybody has different needs and living situations.

The handover point will be arranged prior to arrival but will usually be at your front door or front/back garden entrance. We will not enter into your home, unless you or your dog have a disability or need assistance in bringing the dog(s) to the agreed handover point. Upon our arrival we will wait at the agreed handover point, for example if this is your front door we will ring your doorbell and step 2 meters back, to allow for social distancing, and expect the owners to bring the dogs to this handover point. Owners are asked to bring their dogs to the front door or garden and release the dog so that it can be called to us when safe to do so. In the event where we do need to enter your home we will always do so wearing a face mask and a new pair of disposable gloves. We will either wear a new pair of disposable gloves when using the owner’s own dog leads or use our own leads if preferred or required. We have a hand sanitisation station in the van and the cages in our van are cleaned every day with an alcohol based cleaner to further minimise risk. It goes without saying that if any client showing symptoms of COVID-19 or that suspects they have been exposed to COVID-19 must inform us immediately and all contact will be suspended until you have fully recovered or quarantined for the government mandated time frame.
